**** If you’re speeding in a work zone, fines are doubled and you might get a hefty ticket with a fine of up to $1,000.  Last year 10 people were killed in crashes in work zones.  On average, 200 crashes occur in Iowa work zones every year.  Of those, 75% are rear-end crashes.  Rear end crashes happen when people are following too closely, not paying attention, or speeding.

Slow down, pay attention, and watch for your friends, neighbors and family members who proudly wear safety vests while making Iowa roads better for all of us.

****Any information that you would like to be included in the daily announcements should be emailed or given to Ms. Pingel by 9:30AM.

****Students – If you have been absent from school, you must get an excused/unexcused admit from the office when returning to school. All teachers should ask the students to see the excused/unexcused admit when attending class after being absent.

Please be aware that the 1st lane in front of the middle school is for busses ONLY!   Do not park anywhere in that lane from the corner BY THE STOP SIGN TO THE FRONT WINDOWS OF THE OFFICE. We have parents using the middle lane as asked, then cars go through the first lane and we have students walking across the first  lane to enter the building with traffic passing through, which is a safety issue for the students.  Please do not use the first lane when dropping off your student/s in the morning.

****SCHOOL BUS DRIVER NEEDED – Route available – if interested please call 563-259-3000.

****Anyone interested in purchasing a 2017-2018 yearbook, should see Mrs. Sheppard. The price is $50.00.

****During the school year when the doors are locked, you must push the buzzer; state your full name and your purpose for entering the building.

****All students please check your lunch account balance if you are unsure of your account status. Absolutely NO MEALS or ALA CART may be purchased if you have a negative balance. All lunch deposits must be turned into the office by 9:45AM.  We are no LONGER able to accept cash for ala cart items during the serving lunch hours.

****Reminder to all students: Please do not leave books sitting in the freshman hallway. They are likely to be damaged or stolen. Any books found in this hallway will be returned to the library.

****Events Web Calendar

The All-District Events Calendar is a great place to go to find information about upcoming events happening at Camanche Schools.  Go to the school website (www.camanche.k12.ia.us) and click on the All-District Calendar link.  Athletic schedules, fine arts schedules, plays, facility availability, fundraisers, and school dances are just a handful of what is listed on this calendar.  Changes, cancellations, additional events, etc. are updated on this calendar throughout the year so be sure to check it often.

****Any student leaving during the day due to a doctor or dental appointment or illness must have a phone call from a parent and check out of the office before leaving.  A doctor/dental slip must be returned to the office on your return. Failure to check out of the building or report back into the building properly from an appointment or coming late may result in an unexcused absence.

****PARKING STICKERS – All students driving to school must have a parking sticker and displayed hanging on the rearview mirror facing out.  The parking lot will be checked and violators will face consequences.  The cost is $5.00 and may be purchased in the office with a completed parking permit form from Ms. Pingel.
