HOMECOMING WEEK – SEPT 18TH – 22ND
Camanche Schools will celebrate HOMECOMING 2023 during the week of Sept 18th – 22nd. This year’s theme is “More Than Just a Game”. Dress up days at CES will be as follows:
MONDAY ~ Candy Land Sweet Dreams ~ Wear your pjs!
TUESDAY ~ Guess Who? ~ Dress like a celebrity!
WEDNESDAY ~ Twister ~ Wear your best mismatched outfit!
THURSDAY ~ Scrabble ~ Dress as something that starts with the first letter of your name!
FRIDAY ~ Spirit Day ~ Show your STORM pride!
DROP-OFF & PICK-UPS
Please remember that 6th Avenue, located on the west side of the playground, is treated as a ONE-WAY every morning and afternoon to accommodate the traffic flow of parents dropping off and picking up students.
NEWSLETTERS & MENUS ARE ONLINE
In an effort to be environmentally friendly, we will no longer print off weekly newsletters, but post them electronically instead. Please make sure we have the correct email on file for you, as that is how we will send the newsletters each week. They will also be posted on our Facebook page, and on our district website.
We will also send our breakfast and lunch menus electronically. They will be emailed, be posted on our school Facebook page, and are available on our district website at: https://camanche.nutrislice.com/menu
MUSIC NOTES
All Camanche Elementary Families: Please see that your child wears their gym shoes on the days they have music class. If you have any questions or concerns, I can be contacted through the school, class dojo, or by email at: jmeyer@camanchecsd.org.

GYM SHOES
Mr. Peppers would like to remind all our families that gym shoes are required for his students to participate in PE class. Please see that your child wears their gym shoes on the days they have PE. You are also welcome to leave a pair of gym shoes at school so that your student is always prepared
With that in mind, if you happen to have any used shoes that are in good condition, and you are willing to donate to his program, Mr. Peppers would be happy to take them off your hands to share with students that forget to wear their gym shoes to his class.
PTA NEWS
Welcome back!!! We are excited for the 2023-2024 school year!
Our first field trip fundraiser is next Monday, September 11th at Happy Joe’s! Happy Joe’s will donate a portion of the evening’s sales from 5:00-8:00 p.m. to CES field trips. Last year our students were able to go to The Bettendorf Family Museum, a play at Circa 21, The Putnam Museum, Niabi Zoo, and Heritage Canyon.
We are getting ready for Homecoming!!! We are selling red and blue tinsel hair clips and red, white, and blue crazy hairbands. The hairbands will have the STORM logo on them. The hair tinsel is $2 for each color and the hairband is $6. Pre-orders are due September 18th and will be delivered to the classrooms after school on September 20th in time for SPIRIT Day on September 22nd.
Monster Mash is coming Saturday, October 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The first hour will include games, the second hour will be a glow dance. More details to follow!
