SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM

Students, up to the age of 18, have the ability to go to either Eagle Heights Elementary or Jefferson Elementary schools in Clinton, to participate in the summer meal program. There is no charge for these breakfasts or lunches. The program runs from June 10th – June 28th and July 8th – August 9th from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. (breakfast) and 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (lunch) Monday through Friday.

FROM NURSE AMANDA

If your child has prescription or over the counter medication at school, it will be important to stop in and pick it up before or at the completion of the school year. Leftover medication cannot be sent home with students for the safety of them and others. If the medications are not picked up, they are automatically discarded. If you have questions regarding our medication policy, feel free to contact the school nurse.

FEES & UNPAID BALANCES

Please strive to get your students’ bus fees, book fees, and library fees paid up. Some lunch accounts are also past due. Balances of all student accounts will carry over to the following school year. Balances of 4th grade students will carry over to their 5th grade accounts at middle school. All unpaid balances as of June 15th 2024, will be accessed a 25% late fee.

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will be completed online. Parents, please make sure that your contact information is up to date in JMC. Communication regarding registration for next school year will be shared via text and/or email as soon as online registration opens.

PTA NEWS

Start your engines! Mario and Friends are back for Coin Wars! Coin Wars will be NEXT WEEK. There will be daily prizes for the classroom with the highest total and for the top class of the week. All pennies and bills are positive points, while silver coins are negative points. Mornings are always a buzz when they look at the classroom buckets and leader board!

You can still order a yearbook if you haven’t. Here is the link to purchase the yearbook: https://www.treering.com/purchase?PassCode=1015351206774106 Orders will be mailed (from TreeRing) to the home address if it is too late to be mailed to the school.

The PTA will need a new board starting the 2025-2026 school year. There is one member who will have students at the elementary school. The PTA will not be able to continue with only one member. The PTA funds field trips, hosts The Monster Mash, Ties and Tiaras, the Holiday Shop, the yearbook, and funding things/items that enhance the students learning experience. If you have thought about joining, next year would be a great opportunity! Feel free to contact Erin Ohsann or Jessica Volz. We can be contacted through our Camanche Elementary PTA Facebook Messenger and stormpta@yahoo..com. GO STORM!

FROM MRS. MUNSON

This week’s them is “Oh well, maybe next time”. This theme builds off last week’s theme of appropriately accepting responses or situations that we do not like. “Oh well, maybe next time” is a helpful phrase to remind ourselves to stay positive when things don’t go as planned. We often use this when students express their disappointment for not getting called on to answer a question. It can also be used when in the store and your child begins to whine about not getting the treat or toy they wanted. Remind them to use their positive self-talk and say “Oh well, maybe next time”.  https://childmind.org/article/how-to-help-kids-learn-to-fail/ https://www.parentingforbrain.com/self-regulation-toddler-temper-tantrums/
