WINTER MUSIC PROGRAM NEWS

In an effort to be more accommodating to families, the winter music program performances will be held on two different dates this year.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12TH                             MONDAY, DECEMBER 16TH

                        Kindergarten   1:00pm & 5:30pm                    2nd Grade   1:30pm & 5:30pm

                        1st Grade         1:30pm & 6:30pm                     3rd Grade   2:00pm & 6:30pm

                        4th Grade       2:00pm & 7:30pm

While we understand that this is not a perfect solution, we are hoping this helps alleviate congestion with both seating and parking. Each grade level will perform 3-5 songs and then there will be time between grade levels for families to leave or move seats before the next performance. We encourage anyone that can attend the afternoon performance to do so. Thank you so much for helping to make this a smooth and pleasurable experience for all students and families!

NEW FROM THE PTA

Who’s ready for fall? We are getting ready with an apple cider donut fundraiser. These donuts are made fresh the morning of pick up from Selmi’s Orchard in Rock Falls.             Monster Mash is coming in October! More information to follow.

The next PTA meeting is October 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Our current members are Jessica Volz, Angel Spence, Alie Tucker, Sarah Oldsen, Misti Wilkening, Erin Bickford, Corie Kooi, Erin Ohsann, and Aimee Dohse. FROM MRS. MUNSON

This week as we wrap up our bucket filling lessons in guidance, discuss with your student what compassion means. “I care about other people’s feelings and have compassion for them”. Kindness and compassion improve our quality of life at home, school, work, and in the community. It brings people together. Doing good for others feels good. Showing kindness to others is just as rewarding as receiving it from someone else. Here are a few links to help with building compassion: https://www.scholastic.com/parents/family-life/social-emotional-learning/social-skills-for-kids/13-ways-to-raise-caring-and-compassionate-child.html and https://www.huffpost.com/entry/8-ways-to-teach-compassio_b_5568451
