WINTER MUSIC PROGRAM NEWS

In an effort to be more accommodating to families, the winter music program performances will be held on two different dates this year.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12TH                             MONDAY, DECEMBER 16TH

                        Kindergarten   1:00pm & 5:30pm                    2nd Grade   1:30pm & 5:30pm

                        1st Grade         1:30pm & 6:30pm                     3rd Grade   2:00pm & 6:30pm

                        4th Grade       2:00pm & 7:30pm

While we understand that this is not a perfect solution, we are hoping this helps alleviate congestion with both seating and parking. Each grade level will perform 3-5 songs and then there will be time between grade levels for families to leave or move seats before the next performance. We encourage anyone that can attend the afternoon performance to do so. Thank you so much for helping to make this a smooth and pleasurable experience for all students and families!

FROM MRS. MUNSON

An important concept that CES students are taught is: “All of our feelings are ok, actions are ok or not ok”. Our children should know that it is normal to feel strong emotions at times. The important thing is that we are dealing with these emotions appropriately. It is ok to feel angry, but it is not ok to hurt someone. Here are some tips for helping kids handle strong emotions: https://aliciaclarkpsyd.com/12-tips-parenting-child-intense-emotions/

Here are some books to read together:

·       Hands Are Not for Hitting by Martine Agassi

·       Sometimes I’m Bombaloo by Rachel Vail and Yumi Heo

·       When I Feel Angry by Cornelia Maude Spelman

·       When Sophie Gets Angry by Molly Bang

·       My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss

·       The Blue Day Book by Bradley Trevor Greive

·       The Way I Feel by Janan Cain

·       Soda Pop Head by Julia Cook
