SCHOOL PICTURES & RETAKES

School pictures are in and should have come home with your students this week! If you are dissatisfied with your child’s picture or if your child was absent on picture day, Inter-State Studio will return on Thursday, October 17th to take new pictures. All pieces of your original picture packet must be returned for a student to have their picture retaken. If your student was absent on picture day, please order online here: https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry/87393VF

WINTER MUSIC PROGRAM NEWS

In an effort to be more accommodating to families, the winter music program performances will be held on two different dates this year.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12TH                             MONDAY, DECEMBER 16TH

                        Kindergarten   1:00pm & 5:30pm                    2nd Grade   1:30pm & 5:30pm

                        1st Grade         1:30pm & 6:30pm                     3rd Grade   2:00pm & 6:30pm

                        4th Grade       2:00pm & 7:30pm

While we understand that this is not a perfect solution, we are hoping this helps alleviate congestion with both seating and parking. Each grade level will perform 3-5 songs and then there will be time between grade levels for families to leave or move seats before the next performance. We encourage anyone that can attend the afternoon performance to do so. Thank you so much for helping to make this a smooth and pleasurable experience for all students and families!

FROM MRS. MUNSON

This week help your child understand “my body tells me when I am starting to feel a strong emotion”. Often, we experience physical sensations that are associated with emotions, and we can learn to recognize our feelings based on our physical symptoms. These sensations can include tightness, numbness, agitation, and nausea. Being mindful of these sensations can help us figure out what we need in order to take care of ourselves. Take a minute, close your eyes, and do a quick body scan. Are your muscles tense or relaxed? Are you taking long deep breaths or short shallow breaths? Is your heart racing or beating steady? Our bodies give us lots of clues to how we are feeling. Once we are able to recognize these clues, we can work to name our feelings and find healthy coping strategies. Remember that “all feelings are okay, actions are okay or not okay”. Visit the website below for more information about feeling emotions in your body and how you can calm them: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/emotion-as-information/202002/emotions-are-physical
