CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to our state champion Sumdog math team. This third and fourth grade team earned 1st place in the Iowa Sumdog math competition against 17 other teams from throughout the state. This year, all of the other teams were in grades 5-8. Brantley Weller had the highest score out of 268 participants! All of the top 10 scores were earned by Camanche Elementary School students. The students earning the 10 highest scores were Brantley Weller, Hunter Gravert, Maclen Davis, Garrett Snodgrass, Mckinley Schwandt, Knox Coit, Izaak Cinadr, Wyatt Petersen, Autumn Snodgrass, and Thomas Snodgrass. Julia Bultsma, Colin Determann, Brynne Hilgendorf, Dexter Kelley, Jenna Lehmkuhl, Brynlee Michaelsen, Mason Panich, Lincoln Petersen, and Keegan Totten were on the team and earned high scores. These students needed to complete 1000 math problems at their level in one week. Sheryl Kennedy coached the team. We are so proud of the determination and perseverance these mathematicians displayed during the Sumdog math contest.

FROM MRS. MUNSON
“I use my skills and strengths to make my school and community a better place.” Everyone has skills and strengths – those things you are good at and enjoy – they can be proud of. Using your strengths gives you energy and boosts your sense of well-being. And you can get the same benefits from helping others. People who volunteer their time and talents feel more socially connected and can even experience better physical health! When you combine your skills with giving back, you’ve got a powerful combination to make a difference to the community at large. Brainstorm ways you and your student can use your skills and strengths to give back to the school and community.
