CONGRATULATIONS

            Congratulations to our state champion Sumdog math team! This third and fourth grade team earned 1st place in the Iowa Sumdog Winter Math Competition against eight teams from throughout the state. Lincoln Petersen had the highest score out of 142 participants! Camanche Elementary School students earned all of the top 10 scores. The students are Maclen Davis, Brantley Weller, Mckinley Schwandt, Hunter Gravert, Garrett Snodgrass, Knox Coit, Wyatt Petersen, Julia Bultsma, and Autumn Snodgrass. Thomas Snodgrass, Jenna Lehmkuhl, Brynne Hilgendorf, Izaak Cinadr, Brynlee Michaelsen, Mason Panich, Dexter Kelley, Harper Mink, and Colin Determann were on the team and also earned high scores. These students needed to complete 1000 math problems at their level in one week. Sheryl Kennedy coached the team. We are so proud of the determination and perseverance these mathematicians displayed during the Sumdog math contest!

 

KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP – NEXT WEEK!

            Just a reminder that Kindergarten Round Up has been rescheduled due to last week’s snow day. Kindergarten Round Up will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5:15 p.m. in the elementary school library.

            This week discuss with your student what it means to be a team player. Learning to work with others and be a member of a team is a valuable life skill. Ability to be a team player is one of the top 10 qualities employers look for in an employee. It is important that we work together to develop this skill so our students can be successful throughout their life. Here at school, we frequently work in small groups to help develop this valuable skill.
