NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 16^TH  MLK JR DAY

            There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 16^th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

 

CONGRATULATIONS

            Congratulations to our school’s 4^th grade Lego League Challenge team. In their Regional competition, they earned the Motivate award. This award celebrates a team that embraces the culture of FIRST LEGO League through team building, team spirit, and displayed enthusiasm. Members of the Solar Sunrise team are: Katelynn Burken, Marley Fuller, Landon Green, Cody Gravert, Luke Gravert, Lakin Springer, and Addi Totten. The team is coached by Sheryl Kennedy.

 

PRESCHOOL INFORMATION NIGHT

            Children who live in Iowa and will turn 4 years old on or before September 15, 2023 qualify for FREE PRESCHOOL. Please join us for a preschool information night on Thursday, February 9^th at 5:00 p.m. in the elementary school library.

            This week talk with your student(s) about what it means to: “use my skills and strengths to make my school and community a better place”. Everyone has skills and strengths – those things you are good at and enjoy – they can be proud of. Using your strengths gives you energy and boosts your sense of well-being. You can get the same benefits from helping others. People who volunteer their time and talents feel more socially connected and can even experience better physical health! When you combine your skills with giving back, you’ve got a powerful combination to make a difference to the community at large. Brainstorm ways you and your student(s) can use your skills and strengths to give back to the school and community.
